Apple Pie Filling
Thanks to the abundance of apples we had this fall, we were able to experiment with making and canning apple pie filling. I was hesitant at first because I’m not a pie baker. But we tried
it anyway.
It turns out you don’t need to be a pastry chef to use and enjoy our apple pie filling. It’s delicious on pancakes, waffles, biscuits, ice cream…or just straight out of the jar.
We used apples from two different trees—our red delicious tree and the big tree in the backyard that no one can identify. Its apples are nicely tart, so it makes for a
good combination.
