Peach Butter
I had never tried peach butter before. I think I’d seen it at an Amish farm years ago and passed on it.
But we had enough Chambersburg, PA peaches this year to give it a try. The verdict: this recipe is a keeper.
Like the crabapple butter we made this year, this fruit butter is also made in a slow cooker. I finished it on the stove to get the exact consistency I wanted. The flavor is amazing. It has all the hearty, spicy goodness of apple butter, but the fresh peach flavor still stands out.
My stepdaughters Leslie and Jaymie both love it. Jaymie even asked us to send her another jar, which made us happy. It’ll make us happy if this turns out to be one of your favorites, too.
Ingredients: fresh peaches, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, lemon juice, sugar
