Red Hot Cinnamon Apples
I saw this recipe and thought it would be fun to try with the last couple of crates of apples from our trees. It’s a simple recipe. You just melt cinnamon hearts or red hot candies in water with some sugar and add peeled apples. The longer the apples sit in the cinnamon mixture in the jar, the more they take on the cinnamon flavor.
This is one of Jimmy’s new favorites. He likes these on his waffles in the morning. I think they’d be amazing on good vanilla ice cream.
We only made a couple of batches. If you like them, let me know. The next time we have a good year for apples, we may make more of these.
Ingredients: fresh apple slices, water, red hot cinnamon candy, sugar
